I don’t think paris hilton is a memorable brand. i think it’s only a fad. P&G would be in trouble soon. you’ll see… like Eli Lilly that relied heavily on positioning and realized to late the value of branding.

Isn’t the “thumbs down” function great? Gotta love how it saves you from actually having to THINK! :P

Global capital is converting the surface of the globe into a spiritual wasteland. Those who define their subjective values in terms of market imperatives are willing slaves to a military-industrial machine the sole function of which is the self-replication of commodity culture. To “brand yourself” is to alienate your life force into a reified image that reduces individuality to a Form without Content. Global capital smacks us in the face and then nums the pain by selling us trinkets.

Yeah sure that is why you are nameless and faceless posting comments on the profiles of others, yep positioning great. So branding is not a form of positioning or relaying the message that you are a better option? Ha ha ha! Very interesting!

Hate to be a downer but self-branding is a bad idea, expensive, and won’t work. People don’t automatically buy from you just because they heard of you and you’re memorable. 60 years ago, yes, but we’re now hit with over 4K messages/day. People buy because they believe you are the ‘BETTER CHOICE’ over your competition. This is NOT branding, it’s called POSITIONING. If branding was all it took, we’d all own Paris Hilton clothes. Even P&G doesn’t brand-they only use positioning in their marketing.

    Patricia, a WINNER!

Awsome tips. nice how you make it sound so simple… but then, if you apply your self, make that change. Yes you CAN WIN.

“STOP SPAMMING PRODUCTS AT PEOPLE…” Show how much you care and people will find you. We need nice good people to take over the internet. Good people, real people will Stand out from the whole group of spammers and scammers. STAND OUT AND BRAND YOU.

Right on Patrica. That’s one of my fav. songs. …. CHANGE.
