Are you serious? I just typed “advertise website for free” into a search engine and it turned up millions. I only glanced over the 1st page, but there are MANY which seem to apply. Did you DO a search on your own before asking here? Do you seriously expect to get a better answer HERE than from your own research? The answer to your question as to how you should advertise, the answer is, do a search for free advertising. Do your homework.

How much money you got?
On-line advertising include pay-per-click programs (PPC) like AdWords, ad placement on other sites, paid links and other for pay tactics.
If the budget is small, use viral marketing tactics:
become a Yahoo expert
post on blogs within your sphere of expertise
write articles and submit them for syndication at sites like goarticles.com. These provide nonreciprocal back links.
Build a weblet – a collection of start-ups in your market that all target the same buyer but sell non-competing products
Bid on link auction sites. You can hook up with some highly-ranked sites for an instant boost in PR.
List your site’s URL in industry directories.
Submit a site map to Google and Yahoo to ensure quick, complete and accurate indexing
Keep tweaking and track changes in site performance. Use Google Analytics to start. Once you’re up and running, purchase software that provides heat maps and other data in understandable formats.
Viral marketing involves to characteristics:
1. It’s free.
2. It uses the resources of another site owner.
When you upload an introduction to your products to YouTube, you use YouTube’s resources to market your company.
Same with posting on industry blogs. Each blog post provides a back link to your site.
Branding will occur organically once you start seeing traffic.
Hey, good luck

First of all, what is your website about? Two websites you might want to check out are youtube.com, and facebook.com.
