    NO the high end store rarely have a brand name items

    NO definately no, they would just increase the price and everyone suffers. Branded good are not generally a good deal.

    Do be honest I don’t really care – as long as they do decent stuff, does it matter?

    I dont think it is important at all.If they did have their own brand then they may be a little cheaper,but usually the quality isnt as good as big name brands.I believe people want to go into a big shop and buy everything they need there,they tend to know what they like and want before going shopping,so go to big department stores knowing they will get the big brands there.

    not really, if a big departmental store keeps items of quality and choice its absolutely not necessary to have their own brand product!

    Its about relating to the department store in my opinion.

    E.G
    Compared to brands like Animal, you can buy these not only at departments stores but from the actual website directly. This can make customers lose interest in the department store and shop on the Animal website.

    However, doing their own brand offers the chance to get a product that can not be seen anywhere else, in some way its unique, different and individual. It keeps the customer coming back for more and doesnt lead them to shop elsewhere or around for that, because they can only get it at that particular store.

    Own store brands, can bring in new customers. A brand needs to be able to evolve with times. If the store keeps the brand in fashion, yet also in line with the tradition of the brand then customers are likely to buy, almost every single time. Its also finding a target with the customer, an suitable price that will reach out to all classes of customer. Affordable with a good quality can make the product, an excellent part icon for the brand.
