Our company has been getting e-mail letters from one particular person. They are sending them to our corporate office, complaining about our division with all lies. They are trying to damage the reputation of our management team. It has to be an employee or a past employee. We would like to find out who the person is, so that we can address the issues face to face. Do you know how a search can be done on a fake e-mail address?
Thanks.

These scandals resulted in a decline of public trust in accounting and reporting practices.

The legislation is wide-ranging and establishes new or enhanced standards for all U.S. public company boards, management, and public accounting firms.

The was approved by the House by a vote of 423-3 and by the Senate 99-0. President George W. Bush signed it into law, stating it included “the most far-reaching reforms of American business practices since the time of Franklin D. Roosevelt

Author: Paul Spyros Sarbanes a Democrat, is a former United States Senator who represented the state of Maryland.
Representative Michael G. Oxley (R-OH) sponsored it in the house.

Recently at work I was given unfair feedback that I am not helpful. Mind you my company is going through a re-organization and I was the only one with experience helping out 7 people so as you can imagine I was pulled and pushed every which way. These seven people went and told my managers that I have not been helpful (even though for 3 days I helped them and didn’t do any of my own work). So I confronted on of them (the one on my team that I supervise) It didn’t go as I planned. Someone else went and told management what happened. Managment never asked me what happened. I apologized, but now I have a bad reputation.

Feed back and how to be credible again (in an environment where I already feel I don’t have any allies or support)? Should I have confronted my team mate?
We intend to change our company name, and are after new ideas and
suggestions! It is a 15 year old recruitment and selection company,
and is all about PEOPLE, CAREERS and FUTURES. It needs something that
is powerful, meaningful and memorable. Directors of this company have
a very high reputation for excellence, quality, and confidentiality,
and both clients and candidates have much trust and respect for
management. It’s a specialist recruitment and selection company for
executives mainly in the textile and property industries.
The current name of this recruitment and selection business is of two
surnames of previous owner/managers, who are obviously no longer with
the company. One who left has gone on to use his surname again as a
new business name in the same industry, so there’s confusion and
bitterness.

The current directors have a name for themselves in the industry
anyway, so a change in name will not impact on business levels or
reputation.

The company is based in Australia.

The new business name will not include surnames.

Imagine you are a manager at Boeing and have just returned from a 1/2 day refresher ethics course. This is only one of many actions that Boeing has taken to reinforce its commitment to high ethical standards following charges that three employees had stolen thousands of documents from a direct competitor. In the aftermath Boeing lost $1 billion in satellite and rocket contracts and was not allowed to bid on similar government contracts for 90 days. In an open letter appearing as a full page ad in a major newspaper, the CEO stated that “Boeing has worked very hard to justify its reputation. However, we are a large organization, and we are not always perfect.” What do you tell your employees who ask about the letter/ad? What do you tell your family and friends who asked about it? What if you were called upon to comment publicly about this situation? What would you do?
